HISTORY:  Located north east of Las Vegas NM on SR 104 and west of Conchas Lake near the Mesalands Scenic Byway.  Trementina itself is now considered a ghost town with only a post office, but many of the descentents still get together Memorial weekend to pay tribute to the veterans of the area.  It was originally a Spanish American village founded after the Civil War.  Landowners in the area switched from raising sheep to raising cattle in the early 1920's which remains the way today.
